Greetings, friends!

We’ve spent the last several weeks quietly relaxing with our families and slowly beginning to work on our plans for 2023. 2022 was a whirlwind of a year, and we all needed some time off before the 2023 season took hold. Thank you to all of our loyal customers, friends, and family for your kindness and support this past year. You helped make it our best season yet!

We have a lot in store for this year, and we’re excited to share some of what we’ve been working on.

We sowed the year’s first seeds on January 5th, and each week we are slowly adding more to the greenhouse. It will be overflowing with seedlings in no time. Our high tunnels are filling up, too. Though we plant the vast majority of the space in our tunnels in the fall, we always save a little bit of space for winter and spring plantings of crops like stock and sweet peas. We’re thankful that the heavy freeze around Christmas didn’t seem to do too much damage to our crops, and for the most part things are looking good around the farm.

The work in the greenhouse and high tunnels is minimal this time of year, and so we’re spending a lot of time on our computers these days. Winter as a farmer means spreadsheets galore. We’ve also begun to plan our on farm events and workshops for 2023, and we’re looking forward to seeing your faces!

On Monday we opened up orders for our 2023 Plant Sale. We’ve got a fantastic selection of seedlings this year, including a lovely selection of container garden plants and perennials. Garden planning is one of the best cures for the winter blues!

Plants will be ready for pickup in early May— we will contact you with details in advance of the pickup date. We’re offering 6 different pickup sites for your convenience, with locations in Baltimore, DC, Silver Spring, and Carroll County.

We quietly introduced a new wedding and event shop to our website late in December. We’ve decided to focus on this simple, “a la carte” style wedding offering in order to help you plan celebrations with ease. Rather than dealing with event proposals and lots of back and forth, we’ve set up a straightforward one stop floral shop. We offer floral design services from mid-April to early November, and our offerings include everything from bridal bouquets to floral dog collars, all designed with blooms lovingly grown at Two Boots.
