Two Boots Farm

A family run farm and floral design studio in Hampstead, Maryland. We grow a wide variety of cut flowers and produce. We also have over 100 cultivated pawpaw fruit trees. We use ecologically sustainable practices so that future generations can continue to grow in healthy soil.

Falling into Place

Hello friends,

Autumn has arrived! It feels as though we’re at a true seasonal turning point on the farm. The mums have begun to flower, the last of the pawpaws are ripening, and we’re getting the cool season flowers in the ground. Both of our high tunnels are ready to be planted out with what will be our first flowers of 2020, and we are so excited! There were a few weeks where we were so busy harvesting all the time that we were worried we’d never make it to this point, so it’s refreshing to see everything coming together now. Now all we need is some good rain! We got a few moments of rainfall today, and while it was refreshing, it only left us wanting more.

If you haven’t already gotten your annual pawpaw fix, now is the time to do so! This will be the last week we’ll have pawpaws available, so get to market early, because we will sell out.

Turning over beds in the high tunnel to prepare for our cool flowers. These beds had a buckwheat cover crop in them for part of the summer, and before that they were home to lettuce, tulips, and sunflowers.

Are you tired of pawpaws yet? We’re not!

We’re still harvesting hundreds of dahlias each week. I can’t get enough of these gorgeous peachy blooms!
