Wreath Season
Greetings, friends
We’ve planted thousands of tulips and scores of peonies in recent days, and now we’re wrapping up the week with making lots of wreaths to bring to market this weekend. We’ve had excellent help from our friend Tara, who owns Weaving Roots Farm in PA. Together, we’ve created some stunning wreaths and pushed our creativity to the max! It’s been a real pleasure for us to spend time working with another farmer friend. We’ve had a great time reflecting on our seasons, sharing ideas, and joking around. After a whirlwind season, it’s a joy to spend time with friends and enjoy the change of pace around the farm.
Of course, we’re not totally finished with our field work for the season! Next week we’ll be scrambling to get some of our perennials into the ground, and we’ve still got crops to remove and cleanup to finish. We’re done with the cut flower season, but we’ve still got a bit of produce growing, and we’ll be working to bring it to market for as many more weeks as we can.
This week at the JFX market we will have arugula, carrots, head lettuce, radishes, hakurei turnips, spring mix, succulent plants, framed pressed flowers, and wreaths.
Elisa has been hard at work making lip balm and bath salts using oils infused with our flowers! These make great stocking stuffers, and we’ll be bringing them to market for the rest of the season.
