Warmer days ahead
Hello, friends!
I hope you’re enjoying the warm weather this week! What a nice change from the unseasonable cold we experienced over the weekend. While we lost some of our first plantings of summer flowers (zinnias, cosmos, amaranth, and marigolds), the rest of our crops appear healthy and strong! We’re looking forward to planting our tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, and cucumbers in the coming days. It feels so good to finally be able to get these summer veggies in the ground, and we are so looking forward to feeding you all this year.
I can’t begin to express how happy I am that we managed to send out so many seedling orders in the last few weeks! Figuring out the online seedling sales took a lot of time and energy, but it’s absolutely worth it to know that so many families and individuals will be able to grow their own bounty this year! We’re looking forward to seeing pictures of your verdant gardens and the delicious meals you prepare with your harvest.
We want to say thank you to all who purchased flowers for Mother’s Day. We were astounded by the speed with which our honor system bouquets flew off the shelf, and of course, we’re thankful for our florists and those who pre-ordered their bouquets. Mother’s Day is always one of our biggest weeks of the year, and this one was no exception!
Next week is our first week of CSA season, and from there on out, we hope to have more food and flowers available to everyone! The cool weather gave us a slow start to the season, but things are shaping up in the fields and the harvests are slowly but surely beginning to roll in. Keep an eye out for additions to our online shop!
Wishing you good health and happiness,
Amelia & the rest of the Two Boots crew
