Two Boots Farm

A family run farm and floral design studio in Hampstead, Maryland. We grow a wide variety of cut flowers and produce. We also have over 100 cultivated pawpaw fruit trees. We use ecologically sustainable practices so that future generations can continue to grow in healthy soil.

Seasonal Shifts

Hello, friends!

We’ve spent the week preparing for cold weather and wrapping up loose ends around the farm. It seems like we’ve expected a killing freeze for weeks now, and narrowly escaped it each time, but this weekend it looks like it will actually happen. We’ve got our tender veggies tucked in under row cover, we’re harvesting as many flowers as we can (a challenge when also inundated with rain!), and we’re ready to say our goodbyes to the crops we can’t protect from the cold. On Thursday, we filled the high tunnels with flower seedlings. As we bid farewell to this season’s blooms, we’re planting the flowers that we will harvest in time for Mother’s Day! This year it feels especially difficult to envision what things will look like six months from now, but what we do know is that we’re going to keep on growing and doing this work that we love so much.

We’re still accepting preorders for wreaths! We’re currently only accepting orders for grapevine wreaths, but later on in the season we will begin making evergreen wreaths as well. The wreaths we make in early Autumn tend to be filled with dried flowers and grasses. Closer to Thanksgiving, we’ll begin offering wreaths with more berries and evergreen branches incorporated in the design. Place your wreath order here.

These are most likely the last bouquets of 2020! Come to market on Sunday to get flowers before they’re done for the year!
