Sunny November
Greetings, friends.
We’ve been enjoying the phenomenal weather this week. It’s a pleasure to be able to finish out the season with mild, sunny days. We’re continuing to hammer out the to-do list, and this week managed to plant all of our tulips and mulched and covered the dahlias for another season of overwintering.
We had a work crew out on Thursday to break ground on getting a septic system in the barn, which will allow us to finally build a bathroom in our work space and run water to the floral studio. We’re all looking forward to this exciting new development.
Next year will bring expanded water access on the farm, more perennial plants, and plenty of fun new flower varieties. We’re looking forward to trying out new tools, like a soil moisture meter, and also growing a crew garden for vegetables and other plants we’re just interested in growing for ourselves. Planning for next year is well underway, and it’s a lot of fun to be thinking about the coming season as we tuck in all the plants for a long winter’s nap.
Calling all Two Boots customers! Please consider filling out this survey to help us plan for the coming season and better tailor our production and offerings to what our customers want!
he survey is particularly geared towards customers who have purchased flower shares in the past, but we’d love to hear from you if you are a market customer too
Survey respondents are entered to win an 18” grapevine wreath.
The survey closes Monday, November 14th.
Upcoming Markets
We’re back at the JFX market on Sunday from 7:00-12:00.
This week’s market stand will feature bunches of eucalyptus, and if the plants provide, maybe a few other flowers.
We don’t have much produce left in the fields, but this week the selection will feature lettuce, turnips, and persimmons.
Wreaths are back! We’ll have lots of autumnal grapevine and wire hoop wreaths at the market this week.
This week we are going to bring a small selection of bulbs to the farmers market. We’ll have Belle Époque tulips, Silver Parrot tulips, Purple Sensation alliums, Replete daffodils, and Striped Squill Puschkinia. All of these bulbs can be fall planted for spring blooms.
Thanks for reading!
Take care,
Amelia and the rest of the Two Boots crew
