Two Boots Farm

A family run farm and floral design studio in Hampstead, Maryland. We grow a wide variety of cut flowers and produce. We also have over 100 cultivated pawpaw fruit trees. We use ecologically sustainable practices so that future generations can continue to grow in healthy soil.

To market, to market

Greetings, friends!

We’re returning to the Baltimore Farmers’ Market under the JFX on Sunday. This week’s unseasonably hot weather brought out the blooms en masse, and we’ll have a beautiful assortment of tulips, ranunculus, and bouquets available this weekend. We’re looking forward to being back at the market and sharing the harvest!

It’s been a busy week on the farm. Since the crew began last week we’ve managed to weed most of the farm’s perennial and overwintered flower beds, and we’ve made a big dent in our mulch pile as we’ve attempted to mulch every inch of perennial space on the farm. We’re beginning the big spring planting push, and we’re also trying to plug away at potting up seedlings in our greenhouse, making a little big of headway each day.

There’s so much to get done this time of year, and this hot, dry weather has made the beginning of the season a bit more frantic than usual. As much as we enjoy the fact that we’re not freezing as we wash buckets each morning, the fact that the high temperatures this week were ~20 degrees higher than the average for this time of year is a bit unsettling! We’re yet to see what this season holds, but we know that we’re always able to make do and roll with the punches. Next week’s weather looks a bit more seasonally appropriate, so we’re looking forward to that.

Tulip season is in full swing, which means we’re tracking our harvest on a massive whiteboard to ensure that we don’t oversell anything!

Ordering for our 2023 Plant Sale is open until April 24th! Spring is in full swing, and it’s time to get your garden ready. If you haven’t already started planning this year’s garden, do so now!

We still have a fantastic selection of plants available to order, including a selection of great landscaping plants and plenty of container garden options. Plants will be ready for pickup in early May— we will contact you with details in advance of the pickup date. We’re offering 6 different pickup sites for your convenience, with locations in Baltimore, DC, Silver Spring, and Carroll County.

If you prefer to purchase your seedlings in person, we’ve got plenty of options for you. As always, we’ll bring seedlings to the Baltimore Farmers Market through late May, and we’ll have them available at Flower Mart, Cylburn Market Day, and our Mother’s Day on-farm plant sale as well!

Spring, Summer, Fall, Full Season, and Dahlia Flower Shares are still available! Our Flower Shares are a great way to support the farm and bring a bit of natural beauty into your home each week.

We offer pickups on the farm, at Motzi Bread in Baltimore, and at The Wine Merchant in Timonium.

We love offering Flower Shares and we have some truly stunning blooms in store for you this year!
